Happy Mother’s Day!

We live 3 miles away from my Mother and I sadly say I don’t spend enough time with her.  No excuses offered, work occupies most of our time and we do not see that changing.  Orange Beach Concierge is a blessing, she knows it and so do we.  So it made me think about what I could do for her on Mother’s Day that did not revolve around going out to eat, as we always do.  We are going to enjoy brunch at Fisher’s Upstairs but I wanted to create an experience she can enjoy every day of the year and not just on one given Sunday.

Bucket List Item – Help your Mom create her bucket list.  Then help her achieve what that list is.  I have never asked the question of my mother;  I am excited to see what she says.  Be sure to journal her wants and wishes, something to leave with her.  I adore this Kate Spade journal, perfect for her dreams.

Cook Book – You may or may not care for GOOP but I can tell you that they are strong in the lifestyle category and I take great pride in studying and readying their content;  inspiring.  GP has released a new cookbook called “The Clean Plate” and I love it.  I am not sure of Chef David’s thoughts on this particular cook book but I often find him pulling his study books and flipping through pages and pages of his cook books he has collected over the years.  So I think he would give his seal of approval just from the simple fact of cooking a recipe from scratch and eating anything and everything that is WHOLE and CLEAN.

Bedtime Ritual – I know at my age I am beginning to have challenges with sleep at times and if science is true at all, sleeping obviously changes as we get older.   Creating a bedtime ritual is the only answer.  Diffusers and foot lotions and potions laced in essential oils, heavenly.  Some of my favorite choices: Vitruvi Diffuser– I love the black one! AVEDA Singular Notes – Rose and Lavender are just so lovely.  AVEDA Foot Relief – My Mom is quite fond of this product, I was apart of the original group and team that developed and formulated it.  She LOVES this product and so do I.

The Spiralizer by Hemsley + Hemsley – the perfect way to make vegetables fun again.  I love mine and this is a great gift for anyone that likes to be in the kitchen.

This is a short list to think about when it comes to gift giving for your mom this Mother’s Day and for any occasion to celebrate her.  We are excited to spend the day with my mom and that’s what matters most.  Mother’s are amazing; not everyone still has theirs but someone around you is a Mother, so let’s honor them, they are Rock Stars!
