Tis the season for celebrating! Taking part in old family traditions and creating new ones wherever you are is what makes this time of year so special. Chef David and I put together a list of our favorite places and spaces to share with you this holiday season – near and far.

NEAR

For many, the holidays are filled with hectic travel schedules and chaos! But for those lucky enough to stay put closer to home and relax with loved ones, this is where you may find me and David.

Jesse’s – 14770 Oak Street, Magnolia Springs, AL

Hands down: THE BEST STEAK IN BALDWIN COUNTY! Plus, Jesse’s masters the nostalgic feel that Magnolia Springs has! Every year, we grab a livacious drink in the Cold Hole and then onto dinner at Jesse’s.

The Gulf – 27500 Perdido Beach Blvd, Orange Beach, AL

A little fresh air, a nice view and delicious food! Need we say more?

MOXIE – 201 E.16th Avenue, Gulf Shores, AL

The holiday season is indulgent! This is not a rumor. This is a fact. The ladies of MOXIE Lifestyle Fitness Studio have unique classes that promise an entertaining way to produce a major calorie burn. Fun music. Fun environment. Plus, we all know Egg Nog isn’t calorie-free!

Noon Year’s Eve at Lulu’s – 200 E. 25th Avenue, Gulf Shores, AL

On Dec 31st, bring the kids out for a final play date in 2015. Enjoy kid-friendly music, entertainment and a beach ball drop at 12!

Our Kitchen – we have meals to prepare and we couldn’t be more excited! We’ve been happily overwhelmed by the number of families that have signed for Christmas and New Years Day meal deliveries. We’ll be cooking up a storm beginning December 19th. Mess-free, stress-free and flavorful is the way to go!

FAR

We visit New Orleans often. The quick-trip between our sweet city and theirs makes it too easy! Mostly known for Mardi Gras and gluttonous foods, New Orleans has become a hot spot for holidays, too, with new attractions and sights created for the whole family to enjoy!

The lobby inside The Roosevelt, a Waldorf Astoria Hotel – 130 Roosevelt Way

This lobby is the closest thing to the North Pole we have ever seen! Absolutely magical.

Shaya – 4213 Magazine Street

This is Chef David’s favorite restaurant in New Orleans right now. And it seems everybody else agrees, too! (link) From the small plates to the Matzo Ball Soup, we both adore the cuisine! Chef Alon seems to sprinkle Fairy Dust on everything. Magical experience!

Miracle on Fulton Street – corner of Poydras St. and Fulton St. (downtown New Orleans)

A winter wonderland filled with live entertainment, holiday activities for the kids, faux snow blowing, reindeer visits and more. An attraction you can’t miss while visiting New Orleans over the holiday season!

Revillion Dinners – all around town!

Local restaurants serve special multi-course menus all season long for a fraction of normal prices! A great reason to deck the halls and fill your belly with delicious cuisine and a rich experience.

Where do you like to visit during the holiday season? We’d love to hear your suggestions. You’re encourage to list them below in the Comments section.
