No matter how you choose to top your waffles, this is one of those recipes you’ll turn to time and time again and it will likely become a favorite!

INGREDIENTS

Waffles
  • 2 cups AP flour
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 3 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 2 large eggs separated
  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 1 cup butter melted
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
Macerated Berries
  • 1 pint strawberries diced
  • 1/3 cup sugar
Cover strawberries with sugar set aside for 1 hour.
Whipped Cream
  • 2 cups heavy whipping cream
  • 1/3 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
Mix all together in mixer till firm.

Directions:

In a bowl, combine flour, sugar and baking powder. In another bowl, lightly beat egg yolks. Add milk, butter and vanilla; mix well. Stir into dry ingredients just until combined. Beat egg whites until stiff peaks form; fold into batter. Bake in a preheated waffle iron according to manufacturer’s directions until golden brown. Serve with fresh fruit or syrup. Yield: 10 waffles
